Certified Rigging Forklift Operations & Inspection

Introduction

In these 5-days, you will learn how to determine safe load limits, figure balance points of loads, apply the techniques of a skilled crane operator, inspect cranes for safety and work safely while working on rigging and forklift operation.

Objectives

By the end of the training, participants will be able to:

    • Apply basic and advanced knowledge of industrial rigging and forklift safety
    • Carryout rigging and forklift operations safely
    • Understand the fundamentals of forklift safety including the hazards involved in forklift driving
    • Enumerate the types of slings, hooks, and wire ropes used in rigging operations
    • Identify chain and its classification that includes the welded link chain, chain grades, chain strength, chain attachments, chain slings, inspecting chain slings and etc.
    • Illustrate the general operating practices of using industrial hoist and cranes, inspection and standard hand signals for cranes as well as the proper use of spreader beams
    • Determine wedges and inclined planes, load leveling, and practice fork-lift operation
    • Apply pre-use inspection, operation, stability, conditions, and loads and recognize hazards in real-life situations

Training Methodology

This is an interactive course. There will be open question and answer sessions, regular group exercises and activities, videos, case studies, and presentations on best practice. Participants will have the opportunity to share with the facilitator and other participants on what works well and not so well for them, as well as work on issues from their own organizations. The online course is conducted online using MS-Teams/ClickMeeting.
